The first winter storm in Switzerland: gusts up to 130 km/h
According to MeteoSwiss, the low pressure will lead to a decrease of the snowfall level up to 1600 meters
Switzerland is currently experiencing its first winter storm with wind gusts close to 130 km/h. The storm, called Aurore by Météo-France and Hendrik by Free University of Berlin, will result in a lowering of the snow line to 1600 meters, indicates MeteoSwiss.
Wind speeds of 126 km/h were recorded on the Chasseral (BE/NE) and in Reigoldswil, a locality in Basel-Landschaft, indicates SRF Meteo on Twitter. In the lowlands, gusts reached 90 km/h.
